MIDTERM
Important points-
- Time- 1:30 hours
- Total Marks- 50
- Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (15 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 25 minutes
- Part B & part C consists of 25 marks and 10 marks respectively. Have to attempt -Part B- 5 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 1 Questions of 10 marks. Time for Part-B and C is total of 01:05 hours.
PART B
Answer any 8 questions from the following-
1. How CAD software used in the food industry?
2. Write a C program to display the Fibonacci series up to 10.
3. Define following terms: a) user-defined function and b) in-built function
4. Define Operating System and its services? Show hierarchical view of the OS.
5. Calculate (0.11001 )2= (?)10
6. Give an example of the Multiprogramming Operating System with a neat sketch diagram.
7. Define the following terms: a) Function b) CAM software.

PART C
Answer any 1 question from the following-
1. Explain the following terms:
- Batch Operating System
- Real-time Operating System.
- Array with an example
- CPU
2. Calculate completion time, waiting time and turnaround time for the following process:

- Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (30 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 40 minutes
- Part B & part C consists of 40 marks and 30 marks respectively. Part B- 8 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 3 Questions of 10 marks each. Time for Part-B and C is total of 2:20 hours.
PART B
Answer any 8 questions from the following-
1. Explain the conversion of decimal to binary numbers, with an example.
2. Explain the generations of computers.
3. Explain Operating System and its types?
4. Write a short note on Recursive functions with examples.
5. Explain the Waterfall Model with a neat sketch diagram.

7. Explain in brief how the food processing industry can leverage ERP.

PART C
Answer any 3 questions from the following-
1. Explain the five steps of Software Engineering.
2. Prepare a question on A.T. ( arrival time) and B.T. that has been explained in class in tabular forms.
