MIDTERM

 

Important points-

  1. Time- 1:30 hours
  2. Total Marks- 50
  3. Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (15 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 25 minutes
  4. Part B & part C consists of 25 marks and 10 marks respectively. Have to attempt -Part B- 5 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 1 Questions of 10 marks. Time for Part-B and C is total of 01:05 hours.

 

 

PART B 

 

Answer any 8 questions from the following-

 

1. Explain the role of Renin in maintaining water balance.

 

2. Differentiate between Kwashiorkar and Marasmus.

 

3. Explain briefly the principles to determine RDA.

 

4. Differentiate

  1.  Direct and Indirect Calorimetry
  2. ECF and ICF

 

5. Define Lean Body Mass.

 

6. Explain the role of ADH in maintaining water balance.

 

7. What is the role of a Balanced diet in maintain good nutritional status?

PART C

 

Answer any 1 question from the following-

 

1. Wha is Malnutrition. Explain the aetiological factors of Malnutrition?

 

2. What factors would you consider while planning a diet for an old man aged 75 years?

 

3. What is BMR? Explain the factors affecting BMR.

 

 


 

END SEM

 

Important points-

  1. Time- 3:00 hours
  2. Total Marks- 100
  3. Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (30 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 40 minutes
  4. Part B & part C consists of 40 marks and 30 marks respectively. Part B- 8 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 3 Questions of 10 marks each. Time for Part-B and C is total of 2:20 hours.

 

PART B 

 

Answer any 8 questions from the following-

PART C

 

 

Answer any 3 questions from the following-

 

1. What are the nutritional requirements of an elderly person? Write the specific points to be kept
in mind while planning a meal for them.

 

2. What are the food groups? How can they be classified and what is the basis of their classification?

 

3. Write briefly the functions of all the macro-nutrients.

 

4. What is Iodine deficiency disorder? What are the clinical manifestations and preventive Strategies?

 

5. What are the methods of assessment of nutritional assessment?
