MIDTERM

 

Important points-

  1. Time- 1:30 hours
  2. Total Marks- 50
  3. Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (15 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 25 minutes
  4. Part B & part C consists of 25 marks and 10 marks respectively. Have to attempt -Part B- 5 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 1 Questions of 10 marks. Time for Part-B and C is total of 01:05 hours.

 

 

PART B 

 

Answer any 8 questions from the following-

 

1. Define communication. Discuss the process and elements/functions of communication.

 

2. What do you understand by effective communication? Explain 7 C’s of effective communication.

 

3. Define proposal. Discuss the major components of a research proposal.

 

4. Discuss the importance of communication in modern business management.

 

5. Differentiate between CV and resume and highlight their key characteristics.

 

6. Write an application to a company Smart Foods Pvt. Ltd. seeking permission for a 3-months industrial internship.

 

7. What are the communication skills needed for a successful manager.

PART C

 

Answer any 1 question from the following-

 

1. Define report. Describe the major components of a research report or industrial internship report.

 

2. Write a research proposal on any topic of your interest.

 

3. A leading food processing company has a vacancy for the position of Quality Executive. Write your resume which you would send to the company.

 

 


 

END SEM

 

Important points-

  1. Time- 3:00 hours
  2. Total Marks- 100
  3. Three parts A, B & C, in which Part A is compulsory of (30 marks) having Objective questions, MCQs, Fill in the blanks and matching type questions. Students have to answer the questions from Part-A on the paper itself. Time allotted for Part-A is 40 minutes
  4. Part B & part C consists of 40 marks and 30 marks respectively. Part B- 8 questions of 5 marks each & Part C- 3 Questions of 10 marks each. Time for Part-B and C is total of 2:20 hours.

 

PART B 

 

Answer any 8 questions from the following-

 

1. Explain various types of communication.

 

2. Differentiate between effective and ineffective communication with example.

 

3. “Listening is hearing with thoughtful attention.” Explain.

 

4. From the interviewer’s point of view, why is it necessary to allow the interviewee to speak the most during the interview?

 

5. What is “you attitude” in business writing?

 

6. Write a short note on the importance of letter writing in business organizations.

 

7. Explain the significance of audience analysis.

 

8. Write a detailed note on the use of visual aids in the presentation.

 

9. Differentiate between distributive and integrative bargaining.

 

10. How cultural differences can influence negotiations? Explain.

PART C

 

 

Answer any 3 questions from the following-

 

1. Explain various objectives of communication. What are the principles of communication a manager should follow to establish a good communication network?

 

2. Write a cover letter and a resume giving all necessary details in response to the advertisement published in the newspaper for employment purpose.

 

3. What is meant by a business report? Discuss the contents of a business report with examples at relevant places.

 

4. Presentation at the workplace requires sufficient efforts to be done prior to the presentation. Explain various stages to go through for a successful presentation.

 

5. Why integrative Negotiation is not more widely practiced in the organizations? Explain various steps in the integrative negotiation.
